Oberlin & Harkness to perform at Brownville this weekend

The Brownville Concert Series will host performances of Oberlin and Harkness this weekend. Karen Oberlin says the duo present their show called Lush Life.

"We're doing the music of Billy Strayhorn who was a composer very closely associated with Duke Ellington, but he had much of a career in his life."

Oberlin has performed in Brownville in the past and says she looks forward to returning to the Brownville Concert Hall.

"It's an all-around wonderful place to perform.  It's very different from New York where many of us live.  It's a great experience of people.  It's always about the people and the people in Brownville at every event are just wonderful.  People behind the scenes and the audience members.  It's just lovely, dreamy."

Oberlin and Harkness will perform in cabaret Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 and in concert Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Brownville Concert Hall in Brownville, Nebraska.
